The step-by-step process of applying to the AIMG Program to be eligible to participate in the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) Match. 

2026 Cycle Application Step By Step

An AIMG Program application requires:

  • Completion of online application Profile 
  • Uploading required supporting documents, and  
  • Sharing required supporting documents

Each AIMG Program cycle requires the submission of a new application.  Applications are not rolled forward from cycle to cycle.

Important Announcements

Effective as of March 24, 2025 and announced by the Government of Alberta: For the 2026 application cycle, applicants will be eligible if they graduate by July 1, 2026.

As of July 1, 2025, Canadians graduating from non-CACMS-accredited schools will be considered IMGs for the CaRMS 2026 cycle. Please refer to CaRMS and AFMC for the most up-to-date eligibility details.
